Create a workspace

Click New workspace (the empty screen's button, the navbar, or the + at the end of the tab strip) to open the composer, a popup that fits without scrolling — folder and panes on the left, layout preview and past sessions on the right, and a footer with the worktree switch and Create workspace; Esc, the ✕ or a click outside closes it. With no workspace open, TAO CODING shows an empty screen with a New workspace button. Picking a folder from the title bar's recent-folders search opens the composer with that folder filled in. Working folder — the working directory every pane starts in (recent folders sit under it as chips). Panes — click an agent to add a pane: Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, GitHub Copilot, Qwen Code, Amp, Gemini CLI, Cursor Agent, Antigravity, OMP (Oh My Pi), Kimi Code or a plain Terminal. Each click appends a row, the row order is the layout order, and the preview beside the list is exactly what you will get; ✕ removes a row, 12 panes is the ceiling. On the right, History session shows the folder's past agent conversations — tick one to add a pane that re-enters it. Agents whose CLI isn't installed are listed as "Not installed" and cannot be added. Create — turn on Isolate features in git worktrees for parallel work, then press ⌘/Ctrl + Enter.

Agent detection re-runs every time the composer opens, so installing a CLI needs no restart. Quitting and relaunching brings your workspaces back — see Restore on launch.
