Your account
TAO CODING asks you to sign in the first time you open it — with Google, GitHub, or an email and password. Sign in opens a page in your normal browser; once it says "Signed in", switch back and the app opens. No email confirmation step.
After that you stay signed in, offline included: the app only needs the network the next time it can reach it, to note that you're still active. Your sign-in is kept in the operating system's credential store (Keychain on macOS, Credential Manager on Windows, the Secret Service — GNOME Keyring or KWallet — on Linux), never in a plain file. On Linux without a running Secret Service, sign-in reports that it can't store your account.
What the account holds: your email, your name as the provider reports it, which method you used, and when you last opened the app online. Nothing about your projects, terminals or files.
Settings → General → Account shows who is signed in and has Sign out. Signing out restarts the app and ends every running terminal; with Restore workspaces on launch on, your workspaces come back once you sign in again.
Builds compiled from source don't have login at all.
