The Files tab

The Files tab in the right panel browses the focused pane's folder — the pane's worktree when it has one, otherwise the workspace folder. Click a folder to expand it (each level is read only when you open it, so a large node_modules costs nothing until you look inside), and click a file to read it right in the panel — a numbered, read-only view. The ◀ button returns to the tree with your folders still open; the ↗ button opens the file in your editor: the first of VS Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Zed, Sublime Text or your terminal editors found on your PATH, or your system file manager when none is installed. A click never runs the file.

Binary files are not rendered (the panel says so and points at your editor), and anything past the first 1 MB is cut off with a note. While a file is open, ↻ re-reads that file.

The tree follows your focus between panes. It does not watch the disk, so use the ↻ button after creating or deleting files outside the app. .git is hidden; other dot-files and dot-folders are listed.
